There’s no bigger name in American vintage fashion than What Goes around Comes Around. The company was founded in new York City in 1993, and since then, it’s expanded into an internationally known source for the finest in designer vintage fashion. WGACA is also particularly well known for its ability to source handbags from the most sought-after designers, and its archive boasts both recently released rarities and deep vintage finds alike. To celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary, a selection of those very special pieces is going under the hammer in new York City next month, in collaboration with Christie’s.

The auction, which closes new York fashion Week on September 18, includes over 200 lots that reflect WGACA’s and Christie’s deep understanding of and appreciation for handbag history. In the selection, you’ll find excellent-condition pieces from all of Louis Vuitton’s major artist collaborations of the last 20 years, including plenty of Kusama, Murakami, and Sprouse bags, as well as Goyard trunks and luggage, exotics and rarities from Hermès, and limited edition Chanel runway bags.

The sale is tightly edited to reflect the best of the best when it comes to the most collectible bags and accessories of the past, both recent and more distant. The diversity of the selection is great, with bags ranging from those you’d right away want to put into your everyday handbag rotation to those you’d want to display in your home. In addition to handbags, the available pieces also include jewelry, silks, art objects, and more, all from the most respected designer accessory brands in the world and sourced by WGACA from the finest private collections.

Online bidding is open now, and you can browse the lots on the Christie’s website, or view them in person at the Christie’s gallery at 20 Rockefeller center in new York City. viewing is open from 10am to 5pm, Monday through Saturday, and 1pm to 5pm on Sundays, starting September 7 and running to September 17. The auction will take place on September 18 at 11am, also at Christie’s new York City flagship.
